The risk

Why an in-house rollout
so often goes off track

A rollout is not a single job but a chain of interdependent steps: ordering, configuring, distributing, installing, collecting old equipment, training users and documenting. As soon as one of these steps stalls, everything that follows is delayed. That is exactly the risk when a project of this size has to be handled alongside ongoing operations.
‍
On top of that, many of these tasks require different skills: technical know-how for configuration, secure transport for sensitive devices, on-site staff for setup and user training, and clean tracking so that it remains clear at the end which device is where. As an IT rollout service provider, we take on exactly these high-risk processes for you, at a fixed price per device. This frees up your own technicians for ongoing operations. Our focus is on logistically demanding products that we deliver right to the point of use.

How your rollout works with CDS

Our hardware rollout service follows a clearly structured four-step process. Each step feeds into the next, so your new hardware goes live on schedule and in an orderly way.

1.

Planning

Sites, schedule and device list are agreed with you. That way it is clear what goes where and when, before the first device is moved.

2.

IT Fulfilment

From goods receipt to transport-safe packaging, we fully prepare every device, including pre-configuration, so it is ready for use as soon as it arrives.

3.

On-Site Installation

Our service technicians handle on-site IT installation: setup, connection to your existing network and removal of old devices, across Germany and across multiple sites.

4.

User Training and Acceptance

Users are trained on how to operate the devices, and acceptance is documented. This way, every site is completed in a traceable manner.

IT Fulfilment

IT fulfilment: the invisible part of your rollout

For a device to be ready for use on arrival, it has to be properly prepared beforehand, and completely: from the right equipment to the digital connection to your systems.

Goods Receipt & Provisioning

Goods receipt, system-based registration and order-specific provisioning of every device.

Kitting

Device, accessories, cables, documentation and licence are combined into one ready-to-ship unit.

Pre-Configuration

Selection, software setup and network and access preparation. More on this in the next section.

Packaging

Transport-safe packaging, labelling and picking by site or rollout wave.

Scalability

One site or a hundred, the same process

Whether you are replacing a few workstations at one site or rolling out hundreds of devices across Germany: the process stays the same and is tailored to the scope of your project. This makes the hardware rollout service suitable for both small projects and large multi-site projects.

Traceability is ensured by serial-number-based inventory management, so it is always clear which device is at which site.

Take-back & remarketing

What happens to your old devices

A rollout does not end with setting up the new technology. On request, we take back your old devices and pass them on for professional refurbishment and secure resale, so no legacy equipment is left behind at your sites and its residual value is preserved.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about rollouts

What is a hardware rollout?

A hardware rollout is the planned introduction of new IT devices at one or more sites, including pre-configuration, delivery, on-site installation, user training and removal of the old devices.

How does a rollout with CDS work?

A rollout with CDS runs in four steps: planning of sites, schedule and device list; full pre-configuration of the devices; on-site installation including connection and removal of old devices; and user training with documented acceptance.

What happens to old devices during a rollout?

On request, CDS takes care of the take-back: old devices are dismantled, transported securely to us and passed on for resale or disposal.
