Sustainability at CDS

We take responsibility

Sustainability means for us living in a way today that allows future generations to lead a good life as well. This requires a balanced consideration of ecological, social, and economic factors.

As a responsible company, we take into account the social and environmental impacts of our decisions and thus actively contribute to sustainable development.

Environment

Ecological sustainability is firmly anchored in our corporate values. This is reflected in both our business models and the design of our locations.

  • We conserve resources and promote the circular economy through IT refurbishment and the sale of used, refurbished products. We also save resources through IT testing and loan services, helping companies make the right purchasing decisions from the outset.
  • By designing our green and outdoor spaces in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way, we not only create a pleasant environment for our employees but also provide a habitat for small animals such as hedgehogs, birds, and insects. Our company garden features old apple trees, beehives, and a pond.
  • With the gradual transition to renewable energy — such as our 33 kW peak photovoltaic systems on the roofs of our warehouses — and the step-by-step switch to electric vehicles, we are improving energy efficiency.

Social Responsibility

For us, sustainable business also means putting people at the center and actively contributing to our community. With our headquarters in East Westphalia-Lippe, we are committed to regional engagement to drive positive social change.

  • We create an inclusive work environment where all employees — regardless of gender, origin, or age — have equal opportunities to grow and develop.
  • Through our regular IT donation campaigns, we support social organizations such as foundations and animal shelters in the region while conserving resources. Additionally, we have been supporting the children's cancer project Fruchtalarm for many years.

Governance

The foundation of our sustainability strategy is responsible corporate governance. This includes recognizing the principles of social responsibility and involving our stakeholders wherever possible.

We see ourselves as a team and embrace flat hierarchies. This strengthens our corporate management through a variety of self-reliant departments, ensuring transparent decision-making processes in which employees can actively participate.

Global Sustainability Goals

With the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the United Nations has defined 17 global sustainability targets for socially, economically, and ecologically sustainable development. This shared roadmap aims to ensure prosperity and health for all people while addressing environmental concerns. As a company, we are committed to supporting the achievement of the SDGs and demonstrate how we put them into practice.
