Emergency aid Ukraine: Habitat for Humanity
The war in Ukraine is shocking the whole world. Millions of people are fleeing and are in urgent need of help. Besides financial and humanitarian support, there is often a lack of technical resources. Refugees often do not have mobile devices with which they can stay in contact with their families. But also aid organisations have a need for IT to coordinate the assistance offered on the ground.
In cooperation with Habitat for Humanity Germany, we want to collect laptops, smartphones and other useful IT, refurbish them and take them to the places where they are needed. We have donated hardware ourselves and at the same time rely on our network of IT retailers, system houses and IT manufacturers.
Habitat for Humanity supports refugees at the borders to Romania with "emergency backpacks", which contain useful, necessary items. Currently, there is a need for powerbanks. In addition, notebooks are needed in the offices in Romania to organise the relief work on site.
The notebooks and monitors that have already been donated are currently being used in a youth centre built by Habitat for Humanity in Buftea (Romania). Here, about 50 young people and children are given the opportunity to seek support in their everyday school life and to receive creative and individual support.
